Christmas shopping is now in full swing in London.Burlington Arcade, Piccadilly , is a lovely place to browse and shop and offers shelter from the weather.
The goods on offer are the finest in the UK , the softest cashmere sweaters, lovely hand made shoes, exquisite jewellery and delicious perfumes.
Get your shoes hand polished as you pass between Bond Street and Picadilly.
This cat is an early morning visitor. He likes to sit on the garden wall and survey what is going on in the neighbourhood. He has the characteristic M mark on his head which makes him look as if he is frowning.
I get a lot of pleasure from watching local pets and their owners. This ginger tom cat is thrown out every morning by his owner and he makes it quite clear to everyone that he is sulking and he remains that way until she lets him back inside.
The weather is still mild but dank and misty with periods of rain. The change in the clocks to winter time means short dark days.Dog walkers have to brave the wind, rain and dark.
The autumn usually heralds new exhibitions and events in London.I plan to see the Rembrandt exhibition at the National Gallery and the Egon Schiele at the Somerset House.
There are good and often free musical events at the church Saint- Martins- in- The Fields
After a long hot summer and a month spent in the USA it is refreshing to have some cool autumn weather.
