STUFFING THE TURKEY

Thanksgiving or Christmas there are some jobs we cannot escape .I remember  when ancient aunties would come to help prepare the turkey  with stuffing made from scratch-- home prepared breadcrumbs and herbs from their gardens, suet , seasoning and sausage meat.
A warm kitchen full of bustling women ,delicious aromas and a thieving dog hanging around.
No packets, frozen or ready prepared stuff available then.A  childhood memory,I still love the scent of thyme.
